Hey there! I am…

Frankie Lemmons LMHC, LPC, LMFT

… from an apartment building where neighbors were friends.

From weekly BBQs and laughter filling the air.

I am from the "Golden State,"

warm summers outside and admiring the beauty of snow in the winter.

I am from weekends at my grandparent's and home cooking.

From a single-parent home and close family friends.

I am from prioritizing experiences together, and "we do not talk about the past."

I am from a White household filled with love.

From feeling out of place, hearing “I am Blacker than you” and limited cultural understanding.

*Adapted from George Ella Lyons's poem "Where I'm From..."

A smiling woman posing in front of a brick wall, wearing a beige coat, a cream cable-knit turtleneck sweater, and light blue jeans.

As a bi-racial female, I have felt like people do not understand me and box me in with assumptions. I have spent most of my adult life exploring what to keep from my childhood, what I want to change, and what I still need to learn.

A woman in a black sleeveless top, dark shorts, and white sneakers leaning against a beige wall, smiling and looking to her left. Sunlight filter creates a pattern of bokeh and shadows on the wall and her face.
